SPI is a 501c-3 non-profit organization, reliant on financial support from our community users and donors.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our eclipse event! It was possible with help from many and with financial support from the Simons Foundation #InThePathofTotality initiative.
We honor the contributions of our special guests representing the Absentee Shawnee Tribe who traveled from Oklahoma to share the story of Tecumseh’s Eclipse in 1806. Shout outs to Wild Wally at T-100 Wclt, The Shazzbots!, OneLove Cafe and Bikes, amateur radio operators the Nickersons running our Ham Lab, the Langes at our Weather Lab , Big Pappy's BBQ , The Annex at Kenyon College, optometrist Dr. Philip Holzer, and all of our SPI team members (staff and board) for their efforts. Friends at MTVarts constructed our shadow puppet set. Local sponsors were Knox County Foundation, Dean's Jewelry, and Wright Air LLC. RSVP Perks were provided by Friends of Frances. And Ariel-Foundation Park was a beautiful venue for SPI - Mount Vernon, OH to provide amazing free and fun eclipse education programming for our community and out of town visitors! #visitknoxcountyohio |
Columbus' favorite intergalactic rock band The Shazzbots traveled to Knox County in its space winnebago and entertained children of the cosmos at SPI's eclipse viewing party on April 8, 2024!
