SPI brings people of all ages together to explore their natural curiosity and have fun! Our staff members help community members engage with science, technology, engineering, art, and math through family play. We are looking for community-oriented individuals to join our team.
Accepting applications on an ongoing basis for:
Program Associate (PT) - 2025
1. Program Associate (PT) - CURRENTLY HIRING!
Employees in this role are the first to welcome participants to our play-based learning space. They set the tone that it is going to be a fun time and that our staff is glad they are here! These team members maintain a clean and inviting community center, process admission, track visitors, and engage with guests. They also lend their creative ideas (and extra hands!) to program development, by assisting team members for whom this is a primary responsibility and directly facilitate fun activities with guests.
2. Summer Enrichment Coordinator (PT, temporary) - This position is seasonal, applications accepted year round.
This team member will help devise and support the implementation of engaging SPI programming occurring both inside SPI Spot and off-site during summer enrichment camps. The ideal candidate for this will be pursuing a degree in education, have already graduated with an education credential and will have prior applicable experiences as outlined in the position description.
Vacant:
3. Program Manager (PT) - This person works in tandem with our executive director to devise engaging informal learning strategies. They are the primary staff member responsible for executing these plans (directly or by prepping other team members, contractors, or volunteers).

Our center serves families of all educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, providing a destination for family fun and bonding. Staff members are part of a supportive and collaborative team. Scheduling can bend to accommodate life events and circumstances that arise. Employees enjoy time off for certain holidays, 5 of which are paid days off. They will receive as a benefit an annual membership to SPI which also gets named members of their family/household free and reduced admission to dozens of other science centers and childrens museums throughout the state and country.

We regularly employ those with experience in early childhood education, informal learning, or community recreation, or whose future career goals include these interests. College students, high school students, parents and retirees and other positive adults work here seeking a manageable schedule which enables them to balance other responsibilities while helping fulfill an important mission for family engagement and fun.
