Thank you for your interest in volunteering with SPI!
We invite students, retirees, guest presenters/authors/performers, and others to share their knowledge, interests, energy, and talents (of all varieties) with the Knox County Community.
SPI is a great place for teens to develop marketable skills, add experiences to their college applications, fulfill community service requirements (for graduation as well as court-mandated hours) and to generally benefit their community. Leaders of student clubs have in the past devised special activities in consultation with our staff to engage younger kids inside SPI Spot. And in the summer, members of Knox County NHS and Key Clubs enjoy helping with SPI summer camps!
It's a wonderful place to volunteer. We welcome those with a friendly attitude, who enjoy being around curious kids and families, and who appreciate the value of family recreation in our community as experienced though Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
We can’t wait to meet you!
To inquire about volunteering, contact Stephanie (our Executive Director) at Stephanie[at]spi-mountvernon[dot]org and/or view our up to date voluteer listings on United Way's volunteer newsletter maintained by its outstanding Resource Navigator.
