ASTC Passport Program
SPI participates in the ASTC Passport Program and welcomes visitors from fellow member institutions. The passport program grants admission benefits to yearly members at participating ASTC centers nationwide.
Each institution has its own admissions policies related to the program, so call before you travel to get the details. Reciprocity typically extends only to regular/general admission and not to tickets for additional attractions (special exhibits, planetarium shows, simulator rides or giant-screen films where relevant) or store discounts.
All member adults named on a card should expect to show a matching ID. Adults not named on a card and any accompanying non-member guests (including children not named on the card) will pay the regular admission rate.

Please note these SPI guidelines and restrictions to reciprocal admission benefits:
1) Benefits are extended based on the address of your "home" ASTC institution (the local museum location where you hold membership)...
Members of ASTC museums which are located within 90 miles of each other are excluded from the program unless that exclusion is lifted by mutual agreement. Science centers/museums may create their own reciprocal programs with regional partners. ASTC does not require or participate in these agreements, or dictate their terms.
AND
2) ...based on your home residence!
SPI will extend free or reduced SPI admission rates to named ACTC membership card holders from other institutions IF:
a. The institution from which the visiting member seeks SPI entry is located 90 miles or more from SPI, or
b. The institution from which the visiting member seeks SPI entry is otherwise part of a reciprocal admission agreement with SPI, and
c. The home address of the membership holder to another ASTC institution is 60 miles or more from SPI.
These restrictions are typical of most ASTC passport participant organizations and are intended to protect institutions from the possibility of users shopping around for regional memberships. Hometown centers like SPI absorb a financial loss when area residents expect subsidized admission rates while their member neighbors have invested in local membership which sustains its operations for the community good. Therefore, visitors whose home residence is in Knox County but who holds a membership at a regional center within 60 miles of SPI will pay our general daily admission fee.
Regional agreements of record benefitting SPI and members of other regional ASTC centers
SPI has local agreements with The Works (Newark, Ohio) and COSI (Columbus, Ohio) to extend half price admission rates to each others' NAMED annual members assuming the above stipulations are in place.
All member adults in the group should expect to show a matching ID. Any accompanying non-member guests (including children not named on their card) will pay the regular admission rate.
SPI also has an agreement with the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland (88 miles away) to extend free admission to each others' NAMED annual members; all member adults in the group should expect to show a matching ID and any accompanying non-member guests will pay the regular admission rate.
(If you'd like your "home" ASTC center to consider partnering with SPI to provide reciprocal benefits, please suggest this to your local management team).
