for qualifying Knox County families with financial need!
Families showing an Ohio EBT card will get 1/2 off SPI's daily admission rate for five members of their immediate household (up to 2 adults and up to three kids). All adults from the same household seeking this Museums for All rate must show their current EBT card and ID showing a matching address.
This program offers access to SPI in the form of a free one year membership for qualifying community members. A limited number of these are made available to Knox County families for as long as sponsorship allows. The program is currently supported by the Sue Webster Fund at the Knox County Foundation. The card will enable admission for UP TO TWO parent/legal guardian NAMED adults living together in the same household and all minor children living in that same household. Awardee Museums for All cardholders will receive all the benefits of a regular SPI annual membership, including reciprocal admission benefits at other participating ASTC facilities nationwide; in Ohio this means half off admission to COSI and The Works in Newark plus FREE admission to the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland.
To qualify, an applicant family must reside in Knox County and have financial need which is verifiable by a current HEAP, SNAP, EBT or similar state assistance identification card. They must complete the short online application (below) or request a paper one at SPI during our regular hours.
Awardee families will be notified by phone and/or email. Then, the named adult(s) from the household can claim and activate the membership card at SPI's front desk by presenting their qualifying credentials showing financial needs(EBT, etc.) and a matching photo ID.
On EVERY subsequent visit to SPI , any adults named on a Museums for All membership who seek admission must show a. the SPI membership card, b. their current state benefits card (HEAP, SNAP, EBT), AND c. a photo ID(s), showing a matching name and home address for one or both of the adults in our records.
